Tired of melting your C6 Front Lower Control Arm Boots? Here is the solution! This is a 1/8" stainless steel mount, with a 3/32 aluminum shield. There are a pair of M5 T25 Torx bolts securing the parts together.
Making this from 2 parts is necessary to provide wrap around coverage and has some advantages:
-Aluminum keeps the weight down and is a better heat shield
-Stainless steel deals with the high torque of the ball joint nut without distorting
-2pc design lets it wrap around the ball joint, protecting all sides from the brake disc heat
-Small gap in coverage at full droop, full coverage of the rubber boot at ride height and full bump!
Blue or Red Loctite is strongly recommended during install.
Fits C6 Corvette, all versions.
For rear installation: -Loosen the axle nut, drive the axles about 1/2" rearwards to remove the ball joint nut
-Passenger side; remove the lower parking brake bracket bolt, loosen the upper, pivot bracket out of the way
